Jude's Big Surgery Day

Jude is playing with the fishies while he awaits checking in for his cyst-removal surgery.

Getting his vitals taken. He loved the little pulse monitor on his toe. He laughed when they took his blood pressure on his leg.

Then they checked his temp in his ears, and he got pissed.

....then he found a ball ("DAR") which brought him back to his normal happy, goofy self again. He took this ball with him to surgery. Handing him over was the hardest thing ever. Of course, as he turned the corner down the hall, I shed some mama tears.

HE MADE IT! Tired and stoned, but so so brave! The doctor removed a quarter-sized dermoid cyst from his right eyebrow. There will be bruising and swelling, but we are so fortunate we were not in the position of some of the other patients in the hospital with us.

For those of you (FAMILY) who are interested, here's the latest craze about Jude....

He started crawling on January 12th (my birthday) and has been feelin' pretty cool about his new trick.
He can say "Hiiiiyaaah!" when he throws his toys.
He drops nearly everything I put on his highchair tray on the floor, and says "uh oh"
He requires an army to get his diaper changed. Terds can be quite messy.
He has learned how to give us something when we say "please". He will put it in our hand, and he will say "thank you" with us.
He puts the cell phone up to his ear and says "hi".
He can say "duck duck" when he sees a duck.

He has been the sunshine in my sky, the pickle on my hamburger, and the poop in my diaper.

I LOVE HIM SO MUCH it stings.

Jude's Big Trip to Oregon & Idaho

This is for those who have patiently waited for pictures. It has taken me several days to do what used to take me 20 minutes!

Jude's first big visit home was amazing. It is so good to go home. I love watching the new grandparents hold Jude. So many people took time out of their weekend to come visit us and meet Jude. I am so thankful for so many good people in my life. Jude has a good solid family from both my side and Devin's side, and I am so excited for him to grow older and get to know all of his family better. I am still riding on a cloud. My perspective on a lot of things have changed. I sorta feel like a new person and it feels so neat. I want all my family and friends to be included and involved in this lil' man's life because I don't want him to miss out on knowing such great people.

I love you family & friends! Thank you so much for loving us!

Almost 3 Weeks! Yikes!

Jude is almost 3 weeks on Wednesday! I still cant believe how fast the time is flying. For you lovely fam members that are dying for an update...here's the scuddlebutt for this week:

Jude has bad gas and absolutely hates the pooing and tooting process. Its probably the only time we hear a very sad cry from him.

He is getting chubby...and he is getting lil boobies.

He has a bad case of baby acne right now...but he is still handsome.

I sucked his first boog out of his nose this week. Pretty neat.

He is a super calm and happy baby still...knock on wood.

He finally made eye contact with us today. Before he would just look past us at other things.

He is ticklish. And its fun.

He smiles in his sleep.

He gets to meet his other family in Idaho & Oregon in March!!!

...and thats about it for now. It has been so much fun for Devin and I. I enjoy the busyness and I rarely get ready for the day anymore but I'm slowly getting out of the house with the help of my lovely husband. PS- I still have to post a lot of videos but it just takes so long to get anything done these days.

This week has been lots of work, but so much fun! It is so fun to watch Jude everyday discover new things, stare at his toys, make funny faces, toot, poop, and pee all over, and especially to watch him sleep. I can't get enough of him. I wish I never got tired so I could stay awake and play with him 24hrs. a day. We are so happy! This little kid has blessed us in so many ways...there is no question that he was sent from Heaven. He is perfect and we are so glad that he is happy and healthy. I am forever grateful for the gift of being a mum. I just can't imagine a better feeling in life. We love you all!!!

Tonight we had some of Devin's fam over for a visit, and we fed the geese...as you can see, Jude looks so excited (asleep in Devin's pouch).

No Boob Tube

For almost a whole year now, our casa has been TV FREE. I was super sad when it first began, and I felt alienated from the world and all the latest and greatest happenings on the boob.

But with the passin of time I have noticed how great it's been not having that annoying box on.

Really, I can wake up to a quiet house instead of immediately letting my mind get bombarded with depressing news, controversy, gossip, and stupid advertising.

My self-esteem has been the biggest change. I am not sucked into all the appearance-is-everything-and-if-you-are-fat-or-ugly-you-are-nothing garbage. I don't have to watch the "ugly duckling turns beautiful" shows, or watch judges criticize others for their looks, talents, or personality just for fun. I don't have to see all the diet commercials tellin their sweet lies. I don't have to watch the reality shows - I HATE THEM - that show a bunch of beotchy girls fight with one another, or see chicks in their g-strings grinding up on perverted men. REALLY, how is this fun?

Devin and I have both been so much happier without that tv. It's like an addiction! I know not ALL of it is negative, like Animal Planet (I miss it the most...cuz I'm a dork), but its still just a huge time blower. Duh.

So anywho, just wanted to share the goodness of being without the boob.

We went to the Nicklecade, ate loads of greasy 5 buck pizza, watched funny movies, fed the ducks, and went to the Olympic Oval to iceskate. My week 29 appointment was yesterday.

I got a Rhogam shot in the A...but I got to sport a cute band-aid the rest of the day on my cheek so it was worth it.

Then I was told I was BIG.

ugh...so I asked ''big as in fat, or big as in the baby?"

She said ---> your baby is BIG!

My reply ---> Ughhh, okay...so...

Her reply -----> You just have a big uterus.

So....not sure what that means..My lady parts know what that means, for sure...But atleast he wont come out a wimpy baby (if he will even fit through the exit door)...

SUPER busy week. Grams and Gramps did a lil emergency visit to SLC for a hospital stay. I did not like seeing my gram so sick and seeing everyone so sad and scared. Thank God she is okay. I sure did enjoy seeing my family though.

My dad helped me make mine and Dev's kitty costumes in Gram's hospital room. It was pretty fun. And for planning it last minute and not putting a lot of money into Halloween this year, we won FUNNIEST costumes at the partay.

I'm glad I don't have 6 more teets though. My hooters kept getting smashed and rubbed on everything I came near. Poor kitties. Two honkers are quite enough thank you.

A Mum Visit

My mum came to visit this month. We shopped (now I have no room in our second room to walk because of all the baby clothes), we talked, we ate....oh boy...we ate the town. We watched dumb movies, ate some more, drank a LOT of pop and ate a whole bag of candy corn. Then she left and life slapped me in the face. Its so boring without another soul around. So...I'm pretty excited to be getting a permanent room mate (baby robinson) in a few months...

A baby is coming in February.

Devin is studying for a new career as an Actuary.

We were looking for homes in SLC, but backed out.

We desperately want to move to the Portland area to be closer to the coast.

We are finishing up our last semester at school. Devin will graduate. I will postpone to do the mum thing.

We are primary teachers at church.

Our apartment is great minus the mice-sized hobo spiders that come out each night.

Devin and I had a random and impulsive craving for something to call our "own" on Valentine's Day. So...of course, what better than adopting CRABS, FROGGIES, and FISHIES!

Well, Wal-Mart (GRRR...) wouldn't let us buy our little family. We had to set up our tank first. So, we said FINE, you stink-pots. (We were mad, they sold us a broken fish tank, and we had to make a trip all the way back!)

We have yet to adopt a frog & crab.

Devin got recognized again at work...this time for his "POSITIVE ESCALATION." He got a ribbon, a certificate and a delish kit-kat bar. That little warrior.
Plus, tomorrow...He turns a whopping 25 years old!!!!

I really forgot how much fun I had with my friend Crystal. I don't think I've ever had as much fun with a girlfriend in my entire life like I did with her. I love looking at our old photos which remind me of all the nights we would make our tummies hurt because of all the laughing we would do. Laughing ALWAYS seemed to come after we stuffed outselves with a large amount of food. She helped me to be carefree, and easygoing. She allowed me to leave one side of Erin at home, and become another exciting never-know-what's-next Erin. I loved that. I was out-going, flexible, free. Free, oh so free. I loved being with her so much. She was so inspiring. We had a blast together. I thank God for good friends. I need to pay her a little visit soon.

I really want to put it out there how proud I am of my hardworking husband! A lot of us out there I'm sure have at one point in our lives felt our hard work has gone slightly unnoticed. I know there are tough days at work, and rude customers, but Devin stands above the rest when it comes to dealing with things like such. He has such a kind heart and a willingness to patiently help each customer that calls in for help despite their occasional poor attitudes. He is such a great asset to Fidelity's company, and I think they are really starting to see it.

His boss recently told him about a job offer that he put Devin's name in for which would open an ample amount of opportunities for him...and HE GOT IT!
He also won an Ipod Shuffle which he hasn't put down since!
And today he won an "EXELLENCE IN ACTION" award which awarded him $300

The Lord has been so good to him, and me too of course because when I see Devin happy and succeeding, I am ten times happier than he is. I am so thankful that we are a few of the lucky ones that have jobs that sustain us right now in these unstable times.

That is something my humble husband has taught me from day one, to ALWAYS remember to offer a prayer of gratitude to Heavenly Father for what He has given so freely to you.

Again, CONGRATULATIONS DEVIN!!!!!

Devin & I were so blessed this holiday season. So many people gave to us. My visiting teacher made yummy French toast for us Christmas morning, family and even friends from work gave to us, and we have been blessed with so much love from Heavenly Father. We have been so fortunate to travel safely this winter, and I'm so happy that Devin and I were both able to have both Christmas Eve and Christmas day all to each other without the interuption of work. We have prayed for those that are less fortunate and those who are experiencing trials and loss, especially right now within my own family. Sometimes it can be so easy to get lost in a world of worry over the welfare of our loved one's health, safety, our job status, and how we will get through the day, but I've realized that lately with worrying so much about my husband's safety while commuting to work and back daily in the current weather conditions, that I've worried my days away. While it is important to pray for safety, it is also more important to THANK God for EACH moment we have with our loved ones, and for our own safety and for each moment of life we have here on earth to live, experience, grow, and learn and laugh. I'm SO grateful for every moment I have, and this is absolutely the best Christmas ever!

So, can I just say that I am so psyched out of my mind for Santa to come this year! Well, not necessarily his visit and to see what he brings us, but what I am really happy about is our teensy little apartment, all "christmassy" and looking darned cute! Devin gets two thumbs up for putting up the lights (twinkling lights even!) which make me shine with gleeeee! His parents get kudos as well for letting us borrow their baby tree. Its adorable. I want to squeeze it. My mother gets the rest of the high fives for her overzealous Christmas cheer gift packages she sends us on a weekly basis which are filled with various sorts of holiday cheer. So, for you mom, as I know you will enjoy our elf-like home, I have posted pictures of each cheerful decoration! Enjoy.

P.S.~ It was about a month long process to pick out those stockings! They had to be perfect. At one point I asked Devin "Ok, how many kids do we plan on having, and we will just get them [stockings] all now!" As you see here, we settled for just the two. Maybe if I learn how to sew in the next year or two, my first-born can have a matching stocking! :)

Look what happens when you go on not seeing your bestie for FIVE whole months! At your reunion, she has a little thing in her tummy called Elliott Liam Brady. I am so excited for her! Crystal and Matt will make the greatest parents. Anywho, I just wanted to post these photos, because, Mum, I know you look at this blog, and I just want whoever else that stumbles upon it to see how cute Crystal's baby bump is!

Our First Adventure to the Oregon Coast Together

Ahh, sand dollars, slimy fish, and squawking whiskered little seals. Tillamook ice cream, sandy clothes, salt-water taffy, and annoying sea gulls. Made-to-order complimentary breakfast and a gorgeous view of the sea from our room, beautiful green trees that never end, ferns and plant life that seem unrealistic. Waterfalls that mystify. Fancy art. Adorable little beach homes. Crashing waves. Endless beaches. A memory I will never forget. I forgot just how beautiful Oregon was. I didn't want to leave. I don't know that Devin wanted to either. I would love to live there. There is something about letting go of what you have in one place, even if just for a moment, and taking off on an adventure to somewhere new...especially with someone you have fun with. If anyone ever feels like the world is a cruel and ugly place, they should take a trip to the Oregon coast. Take your best friend along. Your paradigm will shift in no time. God's beauty is EVERYWHERE in Oregon. It is simply breathtaking. Bring a camera.

Who We Are

Meet us. We are the Robinsons. Married June 14th, 2008. Yes, Flag day, and also the happiest day of my entire life. We were married in a teensy, little greenhouse, much in resemblance of the Garden of Eden, I would imagine...or an exotic jungle...by Devin's old bishop, who some Utahns may recognize (Dan Rascon, Reporter for a local news channel). My step-dad, and dad walked me all but maybe 5 feet to Devin because I was too nervous to do that walk-down-the-isle thing. My mom and her parents were there, and Devin's parents, and one set of grandparents, and siblings were there. A very small audience. It was a bitter-sweet ceremony, as originally we had planned on getting married in the Jordan River temple. However, depsite our wedding change of plans at the last minute, the support was there from the Lord and from our families. After the wedding, we went to VEGAS BABY! We ate like pigs! I gambled a coin, until I realized I looked like a fool. And we enjoyed watching the Beatle's Love show. We now live in a very humble apartment, but it's decorated nicely :) Devin works at Fidelity Investments, and is very good at what he does. He amazes me at what he does. He deals with all the people freaking out about their money every time the stock market crashes. He is so smart, and I'm pretty darn lucky, because I'm a no-brainer when it comes to that. He takes great care of me. I enjoy my job working with three amazing girls with various disabilities. It has blessed my life to work with them. It has at times seemed like a curse, but I have realized that life could totally be much worse, and that I complain way too much. Both of us are still in school. I am taking a few classes this semester, and he is working on his internship. He has also been playing on a soccer team. I haven't been as active, which I need to start doing. Nonetheless, Devin and I are enjoying the married life. It hasn't been that big of an adjustment. I cannot wait for that first baby to come! I love being married to my best friend, and come June 2009, we will be sealed in the temple, and we have been working so hard for that goal! We cannot wait!
